[OPENING] Join us from 6pm on Friday 15th March to celebrate the first solo exhibition by Natalia Velasco Moreno.
Visual Diary is pleased to present 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆 by Spanish painter Natalia Velasco Moreno. Raised in a religious household, “𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆” refers to Velasco’s lifelong fascination with the influence of Catholicism on western art. In particular the role of the flesh, carnality and the feminine as motifs used in the representation of spiritual themes. Velasco (b. Madrid, 1990) trained in fine arts in Madrid and practises drawing and painting alongside her work as a freelance lighting designer. In both disciplines, she is interested in the dynamic relationship between figuration and abstraction, along with the creation of scenes and stories via subtlety and insinuation.
