Visual Diary refers to the private genesis of ideas and upholds an openness towards the testing and trialing of artistic concepts.
The gallery sustains an ethos of generosity with a strong focus on community and experimentation; space for learning and dialogue; as well as the primary ambition of platforming artists from diverse and marginalised backgrounds.
--------
Visual Diary was established in 2023 by Asha Madge and became a gallery collective sustained through membership in 2025. Collective members include practicing artists and curators; Rie Delange, Zari Moss, Aaron Ashwood, Victoria Nguyen, Asha Madge and Camille Chapman. In between programmed workshops, events and exhibitions, Visual Diary also functions as a workable studio space for its members. The gallery is currently located in the front space of ‘Frith St Studios’, fifteen year old Brunswick based studio spaces founded and sustained by Mark Iaria to benefit artistic practice.
--------
We extend our deep respect and gratitude to the Wurundjeri woi-wurrung people of the Kulin nation, the custodians of the land, sea and waterways on which we practice.
This land always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
We pay respects to Aboriginal elders past, present and becoming.
